ABU DHABI – The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has unveiled a new initiative aimed at accelerating the entry of aspiring educators into classrooms while strengthening education standards across the emirate.
The programme, titled Midad, forms part of a broader strategy to expand the teaching workforce and diversify the talent pool within Abu Dhabi’s private and charter schools. It is designed to attract individuals from varied professional backgrounds and equip them with the essential skills required to transition into teaching roles.
The move underscores the emirate’s ongoing focus on enhancing the quality of education and ensuring students benefit from enriched learning experiences.
New pathway
Midad introduces a streamlined route into the teaching profession, beginning with a four-week bootcamp structured around a flexible, self-paced model. Open to UAE nationals and long-term residents, the programme aims to remove traditional barriers to entry and make teaching more accessible to a wider audience. Participants are encouraged to bring diverse perspectives shaped by their professional and personal experiences, contributing to more dynamic and relatable classroom environments.
